ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this post because 1. I am a big fan of karaoke. I think I do a good job of singing (or at least I used to) and 2. I love fish sandwich from MacDonald. Although I never substituted fries for salad. Are you kidding me? Their fries are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI had braces too but only for 7 months. I couldn’t handle the pains any longer. I only had to pay half of the cost for taking them off early. I do have the permanent retainer. It would be well worth it if you could survive full term. I couldn’t. My brother had braces for 2 full years.

ReplyDeleteAnd i had braces when i was younger and they were a bit of a pain. Most of the time, i didn't mind them, but i truely hated them when i had a cut inside my mouth because the braces would scratch against it and cause it to become an ulcer. I swear one time i had four ulcers, so painful to eattt >___<
It's so nice when you get them off though. So weird that you can feel the smoothness of your teeth again without square metals things stuck to them. Sorry for rambling lol.

Awesome pictures! I had braces a few years back! :D I wore them for like 3years and I was so excited each time that I'd go change my elastics because I could choose the colors that I wanted hahaha! I would opt for those flashy neon color and show them off by smiling XD

I had braces a long time ago. Endured the pain for 2 years and got quite okay results. Big tip: after you remove yours (how long have you worn it for?), keep wearing the retainer for as long as you can. Even if the dentist says to wear it for a year, wear it for longer. I noticed my teeth is ssslowly going back to its original position! sighhh...

The inside of my mouth has gotten used to it and/or has grown stronger because of all those cuts and indentations! :D Happens to almost everyone : ) My ortho has actually taken a few off before to readjust and boy did it feel good.

ReplyDeleteI was worried about them changing my speech too, but that actually never happened! Eating habits for sure though. You can't bite into hard things (apples, popcorn, etc.) and no gum allowed. It's not THAT bad though! You get used to it and can cheat once in a while with hard foods :P

Thanks Diana! Everyone says that about the retainer. LOL I got my hair done at an Asian place in Toronto and have no idea about the name. Sorry :( I'll let you know in 6 months when I get it retouched. I know that in the book, it was between the brown and blond shades : )

Definitely show your braces! Oh to be young and adorable. :) I had braces in middle school for 11 months. It was AWFUL! I kept getting canker sores from where the metal brace rubbed my lip. Yuck. Luckily I didn't have to wear it for very long. Just don't forget to wear your retainers once you get your braces off. I stopped wearing my retainers for a few years and my teeth shifted. If I were to get them to be absolutely perfect again, I'd go for Invisalign. I don't mind the look. I just can't deal with constant canker sores again!!

I actually had braces TWICE. First time I had it on for 2 years a 2 months. My jaw shifted so I had to put them on for a 2nd time for 1 year. It was horrible. I hated eating anything I had to bite into because it would get stuck in my braces. Also, I hated brushing. I also thought my teeth got super yellow because of it.

I got braces 2 years ago because I was finally fed up of having a gap between my 2 front teeth, but I chose to get lingual braces instead (the ones that go behind your teeth). Treatment time was only 6 months and no one even knew I had braces put in. I'm still not 100% comfortable smiling openly, but I've definitely gained more confidence since then :)
